Getting there Leaving Keswick on the A591 Turn left onto the A66 heading west to Cockermouth. Go past the left-hand turning to Keswick. Take the next left-hand turning signposted to Portinscale. Leaving Keswick on the B5289 Take the next left-hand turning signposted to Portinscale. In Portinscale Go 1/3 mile (1/2 km) from the A66, Rowan Keld is on the right, immediately past a white cottage called 'Fernside' and immediatley before a phone box. If you are approaching from the south you will reach a sharp left-hand bend just past the village shop. About 25yds (25m) past this bend you will see a phone box on the left. The entrance to Rowan Keld is immediately past this phone box.
